Chronic SOS - May 2, 2024

Sunrise on a wheat field with May 2, 2024 chronic SOS

Hey everyone!

It's been a while! I took time off due to my health, but I've had a major development there - more on that soon. The biggest issue was a major infection in my abdomen that put me in the hospital a few days, then recovering from that. I'm slowly getting back to normal, so I should be posting and writing more.

For now, I'm going to share some of the memes I collected during my rough patch:

Therapist: have you ever tried quietening your mind? Me; bird screaming AAAAAAA

I thought I'd start with my mood for all of March and around that time. This is exactly what my pillow heard on a regular basis.

"Are you feeling okay?" Me: yeah I'm good... why? A tired and dishelved Mona Lisa painting below

This meme should be called the “Moan-a Lisa” and is unfortunately close to how I've looked many days. But hey, recovering isn't a beauty pageant!

Your most expensive mug: Stanley cup. My most expensive cup: hospital cup

This one I threw in due to the current widespread obsession with Stanley cups. At least I did get a nice hospital mug from all of this…

And for this last meme, remember that if you're overwhelmed and struggling, it's fine and healthy to take breaks:

If my overstimulation took a physical form, this would be it: wide eyed creature with wild wirey that sticks out

If you're like me, you might try to push yourself to be productive, even if you're feeling unwell. Pushing yourself too far - especially when you're already overwhelmed or sick - is unhealthy and can worsen your current situation. Remind yourself to take breaks and ask for help when you need it instead of overdoing it and prolonging your suffering.

Take care!
