JD is an ally

For background: I've taught JD (Molly before him too) to answer questions by nodding his head "yes"; been working on shaking his head for "no" but that can take longer. I've had bad dating experiences with exes that changed drastically after a while.

I was on the phone with a friend who told his cat he was going to find her a mommy; I asked JD if he wanted me to find him a daddy. He looked sad, had his ears back and was very upset. I jokingly asked if he wanted 2 mommies and he got excited and nodded his head and wagged his tail.
