Chronic SOS - June 4, 2023

It's been a rough couple of weeks, but fortunately with a happy ending: the swelling is drastically decreasing, vitals are normal/almost normal, and I'm on the correct treatments! I've been resting a lot when I can and have delayed a few posts, but my schedule already had a lot of Chronic SOS posts, which is "my speed" right now. Don't worry - the usual posts will be up! Just a little off schedule!

For today, let's do another meme dump with a queer twist in the spirit of pride month!

Because I'm me, I'll be trying to find an entire alphabet of memes to represent the "alphabet army". To save readers a lot of loading headaches, i’ll be doing it in parts: part 1 is A-L.

Having difficulties with pictures, including alt text. Because the alt text hasn't been working properly, I've created a Google drive document with the alt text for screen readers.

The alt text is here. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Asexual

This is something that I have gotten A LOT in relationships. There have been many exes who said they were fine with me being asexual (I explained it to them) - but only because they thought they would "fix" it after dating a while or I'd just do it anyway (as if it's the same as trying a new pasta).

That's not how it works. I can't withhold anything that wasn't even on the table.

Looking at you, Andy, and Dodo.

Bisexual

This one is just pure silliness. I'm not really sure how to explain it; just tag yourself!

I'm ualual because I like blue.

Coming Out

This comic is a mix of a dad joke, queer joke, and kind of wholesome. Very glad for the sun, shine bright!

Demisexual

This could work for many people, but I created it specifically to describe my feelings as a demisexual person. I cannot have any sexual attraction without a strong emotional connection.

At all.

Eel

I couldn't find any E related queer memes, so I made one with an eel.

FTM

Source Twitter account has been deleted. It was from @enbytx

For those who don't know, FTM refers to a trans person assigned female at birth but is a man; sometimes simply, "female to male".

Some FTM people opt to have "top surgery" - surgery to remove most of the breast tissue for a flat chest. I want to high five anyone who makes this joke!

Gay

This phrase has become extremely popular online! A lot of my friends (and myself) say this, randomly in everyday scenarios. I've seen tons of variations of it, so I made my own!

"Want to go get tacos?" "Sounds gay, I'm in."

Homosexual

This is another one that's become popular on the internet - particularly around Christmas. Partially thanks to the panorama, but also thanks to my organs thwarting my plans, I've spent a lot of time on the internet and am familiar with a lot of jokes popular in the queer community. This is my take on it!

Intersex

Let's take a moment to appreciate and show some love for the Intersex community!

Many people are not familiar with the term, "intersex"; intersex means: someone who has the biological attributes of both males and females or doesn't fit into the male/female sex. There are many variations of intersex; human anatomy is complicated!

Jaguar

I couldn't find anything that starts with a J, so I made an image with a Jaguar and some advice.

You don't have to rush to find yourself; take your time.

Fun fact - jaguars are excellent swimmers and often cross large rivers!

Killer Whale

Again, I couldn't find anything. But - here's a killer compliment!

Fun fact - female killer whales live longer than males (same for humans)!

Lesbian

Lesbians get a lot of weird interactions - it was often the topic of discussion during study groups (actual studying, sorry to disappoint). This meme summarizes a few of those in a way that is less depressing and frustrating: with cats and cucumbers!

Stay tuned for more of the alphabet memes! May the spoons be plentiful and rainbow colored!

See something that made you laugh or smile recently? Send it to me with my Google form and I may use it in future posts and give you a shoutout!
