Chronic SOS - May 10, 2023

I'm still playing the "waiting game" to see the nephrologist. I've been swollen and sore a lot, so when I'm not writing or something, I've been distracting myself with video games and music.

I somehow managed to accidentally delete my Animal Crossing New Horizons Island I had built up (AND the backup), but after I was mad at myself for a while, I started up a new one. It's finally starting to look good again and I'm reminded of how great Animal Crossing is for games that are relaxing and fun - perfect for distracting you from uncooperative organs.

I named my island after the fishing village near Galway (where a lot of my ancestors are from), Claddagh. "Claddagh" is more well known for claddagh rings: hands (friendship) holding a heart (love) with a crown (loyalty). Of course, I had to find a custom design with this for my island flag.

Found this on the custom designs portal. Created by Ragaire. MO-BTK2-PS6Q-S3FF

Since my original island was lost, I've been working on doing it better the second time around; I think I've succeeded! I've worked on decorating it with a variety of colorful flowers and bushes and using more of a mix than before.

Most of the areas I have planned out are done, or at least partially so. Near the museum, I've created a garden with fossils, flowers, bushes, and gyroids.

My real bell-maker is the farming plot of veggies that I just completed with sugarcane, potatoes, wheat, tomatoes, and pumpkins. It took a while to complete (thanks for the help, Em!) but it produces tens of thousands of bells every 3 days - more if I make a feasts's worth of dishes with them! I credit it for at least a quarter of my house loans.

I have the DLC, which I highly recommend if you love interior design! It really sucks you in and adds to the game; even though it's not an interior design game, it's one of the best games for interior design!

If you need a relaxing way to distract yourself, I highly recommend this game!
