Happy birthday to a kickass advocate!

This person is going places and will be an awesome social worker! To celebrate their birthday, I've found various cool reptile pictures - something I think they'll appreciate!

Starting with the common collared lizard:

This lizard is found in the southwestern US and Northern Mexico. It's named for the "collar" coloration of its skin and males are sometimes blue and green below the collar - like a lizard wearing a jumpsuit!

They can also run on their 2 hind legs!

Next, I have the Rainbow Lizard:

This lizard is from sub-Saharan Africa and very appropriately named! Though they're pretty and not very big, don't let that fool you - they're territorial and will fight you!

Following the blue-green pallette - the Mauritius ornate day gecko:

It's one of the smallest day geckos. As the name suggests, it's a gecko that is active during the day. Also as the name suggests, it lives in Mauritius and surrounding coastal areas.

Switching up the color pallette a little - the Mwanza flat-headed rock agama:

This is another African lizard and belongs to the same genus as the Rainbow Lizard (Agama). They enjoy the heat and live in semi-desert areas. Their coloring resembles Spider-Man, which made them a popular pet and are sometimes called "Spider-Man Agamas".

Ending on a lizard that only has bright colors on their ends - the Japanese skink:

This is a small skink native to Japan. They're the most common species of skink in Japan, despite having a short mating season from April to May. Only juveniles have a bright blue tail and adults have brown bodies; the males can have a bright red head during mating season, but it fades away.
